The Missionary of St. Francis de Sales is a religious Missionary Congregation.
Thecongregation was founded by Fr. Peter Mary Mermier, a humble French Priest on 24th Oct 1838 at Annecy in Savoy, France. The members are popularly known as “Fransalians”.We, the Fransalians are rendering our service in 21 countries all over the world. There are 1151 members in the congregation.
A team of four Fransalians came to India in 1845. The Fransalians are now working in more than 100 dioceses in India. We have six Provinces,
The newly constituted “South East India Province” is at its infancy. The Provinceis erected with the aim of concentrating our ministry in the state of Tamilnadu and the union territory of Pondicherry. The new Province has seventy-five priests and eighty-seven scholastics (Doing Philosophy and Theology)
Our priests are engaged in diverse ministries, like parish missions, Preaching Ministry, Education, Youth Animation and Social Activities – Rehabilitation, Woman empowerment, Social Awareness Programmes, Upliftment of the poor, tribal and Dalits, Education of the drop-outs, career Guidance, Formation of self – help groups, etc.,
